The Northern Territory Electoral Commission had delayed the calculation of the Katherine votes until this morning.
Your new council is:
Toni Tapp Coutts, Peter Gazey, Elisabeth Clark, Jon Raynor, Matthew Hurley and John Zelley.
As expected, Mayor Fay Miller, was returned in a landslide.
The Victoria Daly and Roper Gulf councils are expected to be announced later today.
After the distribution of preferences for the Katherine election, Mayor elect Miller received 2056 votes, followed by Jon Raynor.
Final result: Fay Miller 2056, Jon Raynor 752, Allan Brennan 487, Kylee McDougall 147.
The contest for the six aldermen positions involved many more calculations with the distribution of preferences from 12 candidates.
Of the previous aldermen who contested the 2017 poll, only nurseryman Steve Rose missed out.
The voting system used for council elections is proportional representation, and the count is conducted using a computerised vote counting software.
The quota required to be elected for each count was determined after the close of deadline for postal votes at noon yesterday.
The election will be officially declared at 10am on Monday.
The first meeting of the new Katherine Town Council is expected to be held (minus the holidaying Mayor-elect Fay Miller) on September 12.
