Day one of the official campaign is under way as Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese fly across the nation to begin a six-week struggle for votes. Mr Morrison has appeared in a flurry of media interviews this morning to begin his sales pitch, as he tries to convince voters that his government has the experience to steer Australia through uncertain times. Labor has joined in the fray, pointing to the Coalition's mistakes and attacking the Prime Minister's character. Our politics and public service team is on the road travelling with Mr Morrison and Mr Albanese as they seek to secure votes across the country. Today the Prime Minister is in Gilmore on the NSW South Coast while Mr Albanese begins his campaign in northern Tasmania.
