“One of the council workers spotted a croc at Binjari, it was three metres plus,” Senior wildlife ranger John Burke said.
“Kids are getting in the water even after a croc sighting. Please do not go in the water, stand under a hose or go to the pool.
“We are expecting to catch one at the gorge very soon. The water has been up which lets the crocs move around more easily,” he said.
Mr Burke said residents should be Crocwise at all times around waterways in the region following a number of crocodile sightings in the Katherine River.
“Stay out of the water, you can never be 100 per cent sure there is not a croc around, do not underestimate a crocodile,” he said.
