Little Einsteins from St Joseph’s Catholic College will enter a Tournament of Minds challenge tomorrow.
Four teams from the school have been practicing for weeks to be ready to solve two demanding, open-ended challenges.
Students have to come up with hypothetical solutions to unseen challenges on the tournament day and present a presentation to judges visiting from Darwin.
The first ever competition of its kind in the Katherine region will mark teams on group thinking processes, creativity of responses and ability to work as a team.
More than 20,000 students from Australia take part in the tournament each year.
Students in New Zealand, Uganda, Thailand, South Africa, Nepal, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Vietnam and Bangladesh and Africa also compete in the tournament.
The Katherine region competition is being held tomorrow.
