
Daly River police have allegedly found 62 litres of alcohol and cannabis in a vehicle.
A 50-year-old male and a 39-year-old female have each been issued a notice to appear in court as a result.
Members from Daly River reported observing suspicious vehicle on an isolated section of Daly River Road bound for Wadeye.
Upon searching the vehicle, police allegedly located:
- 107 grams of cannabis
- 27 two-litre casks of wine
- 3 one-litre casks of rum
- 1 one-litre bottle of bourbon
- 5 700ml bottles of rum
- 1 375ml bottle of rum
Senior Sergeant Andrew Heath said police would continue to target the illegal distribution of prohibited substances.
“We are committed to working with the community to prevent harm to those most vulnerable,” he said.
“All communities deserve to live and work in a safe environment and police will not stop pursuing those who comprise that right.”
The man and woman are scheduled to appear in Wadeye Local Court on October 9.
