Detectives from the Katherine Criminal Investigations Branch have charged the 46-year-old man with:
- Contravention of an Emergency Declaration
- Driving a vehicle in a dangerous manner - pursuit
- Resist police
He was remanded to appear in Katherine Local Court on November 8, 2021.

The man received medical treatment at Katherine Hospital after crashing his car south of Katherine on Saturday morning after allegedly failing to stop at the two roadblocks and being stopped by police using tyre deflation measures near Katherine.

The penalty for failing to abide by the Chief Health Officer's Directions issued under section 56 of the Public and Environment Health Act 2011 is $5024 for an individual (32 penalty units) and $25,120 for a business (160 penalty units).
