Recently refurbished, Mun-bililla provides a comfortable home away from home for the keen angler.
The weeds and rubbish from the old Tomato Island site are a thing of the past and the area now boasts a very comfortable campground with a large ablution block, dump point and gas barbeques.
There is sufficient room for vans and tent campers and day visitors are catered for with an area of green lawn that makes for a comfortable sleep in the swag.
The fish cleaning area is equipped with a sink and rubbish bins and an easy to use boat ramp gets you safely into the water.
Always remember to be prepared when visiting remote areas. It is important to ensure you are equipped with everything you may need when visiting Munbililla as there is no easy access to fuel, food or first aid.
Ensure you have everything you need in the way of food and water, along with at least one day’s extra supplies for unforseen delays.
A well stocked first aid kit and the ability to use its contents is a must, as you may be a long way from a clinic or hospital and immediate assistance may be a few hours away.
Another importing thing to remember is to check your vehicle is in good repair and that you have sufficient fuel and well maintained spare tyres.
If possible take with you an appropriate phone or personal locator beacon.
Make sure you know where you are going and when you are expecting to be back.
Let a responsible person know of your plans and what to do if they do not hear from you.
