
Police are calling for witnesses in relation to an alleged hit and run in Alice Springs on Tuesday night.
The alleged hit and run driver is believed to have driven north along the Stuart Highway towards Darwin.
Detective Senior Constable 1st Class Jan-Paul Antemes of the Southern Investigations Division said a 23-year-old male was involved in a disturbance at a service station on the Stuart Highway near Schwarz Crescent when he was struck by a vehicle just after midnight.
The vehicle did not stop and drove off north along the Stuart Highway.
The vehicle is described as being a medium-sized dark grey SUV.
The male received treatment at Alice Springs Hospital for injuries.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident of who may have seen a vehicle similar to the one described around this time to contact 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
