Yet we have lots of sun.
Rental and public housing have the least occurrences of all properties.
I’m a renter. Our total power bill from the last two years would have been enough money to install a system. But which tenant is going to do that?
Might the government do something? Maybe a scheme whereby tenants and landlords work together.
Imagine the reduced comsumption of non-renewable energy sources we’d see.
Imagine the benefit to the many who are running on power cards (or not running when their money runs out and the air con drops out).
What’s this got to do with a Rev? I’m convinced God made humans responsible for ensuring the flourishing of our world.
We’re not good at it in oh so many ways.
But in 40-plus degree weather, air conditioning contributes to human flourishing – and I don’t think it should be limited to those with means.
Likewise, using renewable energy contributes to the flourishing of our natural world – unlike burning resources we’ll never recover.
Call me simplistic, but this seems like the right thing to do.
