The base’s two main units, 17 Squadron and 75 Squadron, will face off with a women’s touch game as a curtain raiser.
The squadrons have played an annual league match since 2009.
In 2013, Cpl Jason Ruhan of 75 Squadron lost his battle with lymphoma.
He was a father of three boys, a husband to Kym Ruhan, and a passionate member of the local RAAF community.
Cpl Ruhan was a valued member of the squadron and the annual match is now held in his honour.
As with almost everything at Tindal, there will be a touch of aerial theatrics with the game trophies to be dropped to the ground at 5.30pm by both squadron chiefs via helicopter.
Katherine residents are invited to attend from 5pm.
A barbecue and drinks will be for sale with all proceeds going to the cancer council.
