With new organisers this year, more teams than ever have qualified for the championships.
A presentation was held yesterday to present the players with new uniforms.
Katherine Netball Association coordinator and coach for the U15 team Donna Bryant acknowledged the coaches, players and sponsors.
“Everyone has been working tirelessly on the court and behind the scenes to make sure this trip happens,” Ms Bryant said.
“It costs a lot of money to get five teams up to Darwin when you think about travel, food and accommodation.
“Thanks to all the parents and kids, the volunteers who have made a big commitment every week and of course we wouldn’t be able to attend without our sponsors.”
Over 80 girls tried out for the championships, making for the most competitive year.
However, only 60 girls made the five teams, broken up into age groups.
The teams depart on Friday and are expected to compete on Saturday and Sunday.
The Northern Territory Netball Championships is an annual intra-Territory competition known to be a positive pathway for underage players and the ANL program.
