Katherine Youth will be treated to a free concert by the Air Force Band’s rock and pop band AV8 next week.
The free concert will be held on Thursday between 4-6pm at the Godinymayin centre.
“We are delighted to be working with the Air Force Band to put on this free event for young people in Katherine,” Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre director Poppy Searle said.
AV8 is the Air Force Band’s seven-piece powerhouse rock and pop band, complete with horn section.
The band’s high energy shows entertain Defence Force personnel deployed on operations and at home, Air Force communities, and the wider public at shows and festivals.

The band features renowned singer Aircraftwoman Samantha Morley and guitarist Leading Aircraftman “Dynamite” Dave Reynolds.
“AV8 are visiting Katherine together with the entire Air Force Band as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations at RAAF Base Tindal.
“The concert is aimed at youth aged 12 to 16 years and will be held in our main auditorium.
“It’s a great opportunity for Katherine’s young people to enjoy live music of the highest standard.
“It promises to be a great event and a fun way to kick off the school holidays,” Poppy Searle said.
