An unusual celebration did not go unnoticed at the cricket grand final on the weekend.
While the long game of cricket does not traditionally draw many spectators the weekend’s grand final was an exception.
The Katherine Camels claimed an unlikely grand final win against four-time champions, the Crocs – only losing three wickets in the process of overhauling the 136 run target.

It was a little like the Katherine South Crocs unseating the town’s AFL powerhouse Eastside Blues in the grand final the week before.
Children were enjoying a mud slide at the Katherine sporting oval as a way of cooling down in the 38 degree heat.
An adult spectator thought a belly slide it would be the perfect way to help celebrate the unexpected Camels’ victory.
