
A car crash on the Kakadu Highway has left four people confirmed dead.
Police received a report at around 8:15am this morning about a single vehicle rollover last night, which occurred around 80 kilometres from Pine Creek.
Two men and a woman died at the scene and another woman died on the way to hospital.
Commander Tony Fuller from Northern Territory Police said “high speed and alcohol were definite factors.”
“We understand the persons may have been drinking last night.”
Jabiru and Pine Creek Police, and Health and National Park rangers were first on the scene.
With Major Crash Investigators from Darwin also attending.
NT Police is appealing to anyone who may have information about the crash or witnessed a silver Nissan X-Trail travelling along the Kakadu Highway after 9:00pm on Thursday.
The silver Nissan X-Trail, which rolled a significant amount of times into the bush was allegedly last seen at around 8.30pm at Mary River Homestead, Commander Fuller said.
The identities of the people involved in the crash are yet to be confirmed.
