Katherine played host to the Golf NT Pennant Championships over the weekend, almost securing their place in the top four come finals.

The round robin competition is in full swing with only four weekends left to claim victory, the Pennant Flag and bragging rights for the year.
Katherine Golf Club president Sarath Ganesan said the team is on track to making it to the finals, despite only placing fourth on the leader board currently.
“We are pretty stoked about where we are. The teams are taking things very seriously.
“This year, our top priority is of course making finals, but also attracting more players to the club,” he said.
The Katherine team will need to score well next week in order to secure a top place.

With RAAF Red at 53 in first place, Humpty Doo 2 – 39.5 and Humpty Doo 1 – 38 are the teams to watch out for.
“RAAF did really well last year, but Humpty Doo is the hardest to beat, they’ve shown their skill year on year,” Mr Ganesan said.
“RAAF is fairly well in front, but plenty of teams can still perform well and make the semi finals,” he said.
This season, Katherine has played host to the competition once, and will only do so again if the home team pulls through to the finals.
Over the weekend, Katherine played Humpty Doo 2 and Darwin 2.
The team practices on Wednesdays and Sundays when they hold in-house competitions.
