Cyclonic winds gusting up to 132kmh were recorded last evening just after night fell at 7pm.
Cyclone Marcus which hit Darwin in March had wind gusts of 130kmh.

Hail, rain and fierce winds lashed most parts of the town for almost half an hour.
Large trees were brought down in many areas with Gorge Road and Acacia Drive among the worst hit.
Electricity was also out in some areas for varying amounts of time.
At least one resident is reporting on social media the hail chipped his car windscreen.
Rain totals have also varied wildly with the official Tindal total just shy of 20mm, backyard totals in Katherine East were the same.
Lightning lit up the sky and thunder rattled home windows.
Katherine MLA Sandra Nelson’s Katherine Electorate office had no computer service and no phone service although her office remains open and is now fully back in business.
