"Educational furniture has an exorbitant overhead cost," preschool teacher and organiser Monique Marzocchi said.
"Our preschool simply cannot afford to update a large quantity of our dated furniture. Many furniture pieces would have been in use for over 20 years.

"Just as the cost of raising a child is high, the cost of providing quality resources at a small school is equally as high.
There are just three tables left for this Friday's Trivia and Bingo Night.

Fundraising for much needed furniture for the Clyde Fenton Preschool, the committee has been "spruiking like crazy with no luck".
There are 26 students enrolled in the preschool, with a large influx of new students due in July when the enrolment cut off ends and children begin to turn four.
"Our enrolments historically grow as the year goes on but this year's enrolments are unprecedented for our small service," Ms Marzocchi said.
"We are proud of our perception in the community and strive towards a very high standard."
The need for new furniture comes at a time when teachers in Katherine have been left worried over cuts to housing subsidies under the NT Budget's fix.
"Clyde Fenton School was the first in the area and most families continue to send their children beginning at Preschool," Ms Marzocchi said.
"The school is privileged to have second, third and even fourth generation students and families. The preschool is a stand-alone building separate from the main school and enjoys lush expansive grounds and ample indoor space.
"A refresh of furniture would see the school rejuvenated and ready to serve the next four generations.
"Many local businesses have supported the fundraiser through donations and other volunteering their time to run the event. We are now hoping that more members of the community will support our great cause and sign on to a table."
Three tables are available for purchase at $50 a ticket.
Clyde Fenton Preschool's Trivia and Bingo Night is happening this Friday at 7pm at Knott's Crossing Resort Function Room.
