The Territory has caught another in its spell.
New mother, Jessica Peck, was only supposed to be here for a short time.
But as the age-old story goes, she met someone tied to the Top End and is here to stay as well.
Following in her mother's footsteps, the 21-year-old left her hometown of Gympie, Queensland, in pursuit of "something completely different".
Chasing fewer humans and wide open spaces she got a job as a station hand on Two Rivers Station, near Katherine.
It was there she met her current partner, part owner of the station, Nick Black.
One year later, she is over the moon with the new addition to her little family.
On Saturday, at 11.52 am, she gave birth to Konan Alexander Black at Katherine Hospital.
The past year has been a whirlwind, she said.
"I didn't plan on meeting anyone, and now I'm getting used to having a tiny little human by my side.
"I just can't believe it."
Arriving just in time for the birth, Ms Peck's mother, Angela, has been won over by both the Territory and the new born.
Drawn to the quieter, remote lifestyle, she plans on relocating here to help her daughter with her first child and work as a nurse.
"Words can't explain what it's like to see my baby holding her baby."
