While the impact of the storm missed the town, it managed to still drop good rain in some areas including Pine Creek.
The catchment areas of the Katherine River received up to 60mm to cause a rise in levels coming through the Nitmiluk gorge.
Unfortunately the rise is not expected to be much again and will be short lived unless there is more rain.
The Bureau of Meteorology says the unsettled conditions will continue.
The heat has not gone away either, maximum temperature is forecast to be 40 degrees.
