A check of totals this morning shows between 25-30mm in many areas, although again not everyone enjoyed the same falls.
But for many town gardens it was the good soak they had been waiting for as a lot of people had been out with the sprinklers again.
Tindal had 22mm, Ngukurr 50mm, Bradshaw 44mm, Daly Waters 14mm.
Automatic gauges on the Katherine River see a slow rise in levels at Nitmiluk and at Katherine - but from this very low base.
Checking the river camera on the Katherine Town Council website it appears it may have had another technical glitch during yesterday's storm.
There is no stopping the heatwave though with 40 degrees expected from Friday right through until Tuesday at least.
The Bureau of Meteorology forecasts talk up "possible" and "chance" of storms for the next seven days but no clear help from monsoon activity.
These storms seem the best bet for now.
The rain came after a veteran Katherine weather watcher crunched his numbers and expressed his fears about the lateness of this wet season.
