Finally Katherine enjoyed some good soaking rain right across the town last evening.
A check of totals this morning shows between 25-30mm in many areas, although again not everyone enjoyed the same falls.
But for many town gardens it was the good soak they had been waiting for as a lot of people had been out with the sprinklers again.
Tindal had 22mm, Ngukurr 50mm, Bradshaw 44mm, Daly Waters 14mm.

There is no stopping the heatwave though with 40 degrees expected from Friday right through until Tuesday at least.
The Bureau of Meteorology forecasts talk up "possible" and "chance" of storms for the next seven days but no clear help from monsoon activity.

The rain came after a veteran Katherine weather watcher crunched his numbers and expressed his fears about the lateness of this wet season.
