Friday lunch-time marks the first time a tap beer can be sold in the Territory since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
While not all the town's pubs and clubs will open straight away, the Katherine Club on O'Shea Terrace is planning to serve lunch on Friday under the "new normal".
Patrons are required to buy a meal before they can purchase alcohol.
Assistant manager Angela Harding said while the existing restrictions will make for a surreal scene in the bistro this weekend, to re-open is a relief for both the venue and its staff.
"We'll be open at noon with a new lunch menu, then providing bar snacks from 2 so we can stay open until dinner service at 6pm," Ms Harding said.
"It will be weird but it's a really exciting time for us and I think for the rest of the town as well to be able to get out and about.
"We were given a good amount of time to prepare by the government so the kegs have arrived today, the chefs are back in setting up the kitchen and it's a massive relief to us all.

"Most of our staff weren't able to find replacement work while we were closed so they were relying on government support in one form or another.
"A lot of our staff in hospitality are working here as a second job or are mothers etc., so it's a big support for those families and individuals to get this income back," she said.
Gambling remains off limits under the easing restrictions .
Patrons can also stay for two-hours in the same venue, and won't be allowed to stand up and mingle with other patrons.
Instead, they must stay at their table with a maximum of nine other patrons for the duration of their stay.
At this stage, June 5 will see venues including nightclubs and gambling areas return to full operation with respect to the new normal of social distance requirements.
