Although the big semi-final was stopped 15 minutes from the end because of an injury, the Camels roundly defeated the Katherine South Crocs in the big Saturday night game.
The Camels came out hard in the first quarter with three goals to none which proved the difference in the shortened final.
The Katherine Camels and Katherine South men have played each other twice this year, and it was split one win apiece, but the most recent encounter was their last outing with South prevailing by 55 points.
But the Camels responded on the weekend after a strong season.
Final scores: Katherine Camels 9.11 (65) d Katherine South 4.5 (29).
The Camels will return in a fortnight's time for the grand final while the Crocs have to make it through the preliminary final this weekend.
As well, the Northern Warlpiri Swans won a hard fought match in the Sunday elimination final against the Ngukurr Bulldogs to end the Doggies' season.
This means the Swans will now take on the Crocs from 6pm at Nitmiluk Oval on Saturday for the chance to upset the Camels' party on grand final day.
Arnhem Crows women's side won a place in the grand final as well with a convincing demolition of the Katherine South women's side.
Final scores: Arnhem Crows 8.17 (65) d Katherine South 0.3 (3).
Junior football competition will return to Katherine as well in a few weeks.
Plans are in place for an Under 12s and an Under 16s competition on Friday evenings at Nitmiluk Oval.
