The fourth round fixture finished 31-14.
Pirates were too strong throughout the 80 minutes but a late Barbarians fightback added some respectability to the score line.
It was looking like a difficult outing for the Barbarians when the Pirates took their lead to 17-0 early in the second half.
But the Barbarians showed heart to rally when it looked like they were out of the game.
A try and conversion from Barbarians reduced the difference to 10 points.
But Pirates responded with a converted try and a penalty of their own to extend their lead back out to 24 points, 31-7.
Barbarians refused to go down quietly though and had their own try and conversion in the 79th minute to take the final score to 31-14.
The game followed a women's Rugby 7s fixture between Brahmans and Pirates.
Brahmans were too strong throughout and dominated proceedings to win 34-10.
Read and Menmuir were standouts for Brahmans.
Pirates struggled in the first half, going in to the sheds down 17-5.
They were valiant in the second half and had strong moments of their own but Brahmans were too good.
The night started off with a drills and skills session for junior players before a modified game.
