Jumbuck Pastoral is a family owned company, established in 1888 by the MacLachlan family.
The 2819 sq km property has an estimated carrying capacity of 50,000 cattle and was previously passed in for $30 million in August 2011.
Katherine man Bill Tapp purchased Killarney Station in the 1960s and his children, local alderman candidate Toni Tapp Coutts and her siblings, were raised at the station.
Mr Tapp went on to create an outstanding property, taking full advantage of the rich basalt and alluvial black soils abundant throughout the property.
He developed the station from the beginning to include several yards constructed of galvanised pipe, extensive water points and a large station complex.
The Tapp family bred highly sought-after Quarter Horses and ran a predominately Santa Gertrudis herd.
Brahman cattle were introduced during the late 1980s, which have continued to the present day, and there are currently about 20,000 Brahman breeders.
Set among some expansive and well-maintained lawns, the property features a large station complex with many of the original buildings and structures having recently been renovated.
The station yards can comfortably handle up to 4000 head of livestock and feature a half-deck weighbridge, large equine facilities and selling arena, with grandstand-style seating in place.
The highly regarded blue-ribbon cattle property - originally a section of the famous Victoria River Downs station - went in receivership with National Australia Bank and was offered for sale in 2011.
