"It was not an operation and just a random traffic apprehension in which numerous police who were driving past assisted the initial attending police vehicle," Commander Porter said.
A person inside the apprehended vehicle was known to police, and had outstanding warrants for his arrested dating from 10 years ago. He was arrested at the scene, before appearing in Katherine Magistrates Court yesterday afternoon and being transferred to Darwin where he has now been released on bail.
