The Cross Border Team has charged a 30-year-old Italian national with drug offences following a traffic apprehension yesterday.
Det. Acting Supt Peter Dash said the man was apprehended at a police roadblock at the intersection of the Stuart and Lasseter highways.
“The vehicle was searched using Drug Detection Dog Jesse, resulting in the seizure of 840g of cannabis,” he said.
He was charged with possess and supply a commercial quantity of a schedule 2 drug and remanded to appear in Alice Springs Local Court today.
“The Cross Border Team will continue to actively target the transportation of illicit substances across the borders, into the Northern Territory” Det. Acting Supt Dash said.
