The Katherine Christmas street parade will run from 5-9pm tomorrow.
The parade will assemble in the BP car park from 5.30pm to strut down Railway Terrace at 6pm.
This annual parade will have a North Pole theme this year.
We are excited to see how many people in Katherine own winter woolies or anything that reflects the cool climate Santa is used to.
Katherine Chamber of Commerce executive officer Sue Jones said people will “come in droves”.
“Local stores in the main street will be open late and stalls of all types will be set up along the south side of Katherine Terrace,” Ms Jones said.
“There will be all types of food and craft stalls and there will also be live entertainment in the town square.
“There will be free Santa photos at the NT Friendship building, and Santa will have a little present for every child,” she said.
All stalls must be set up by 4pm sharp.
Local retailers are also supporting a Christmas in Katherine promotion.
Jointly sponsored by the Katherine Chamber of Commerce and the Katherine Times, the street party will feature both the fun parade and a host of trade stalls.
As part of the annual Christmas celebration, local businesses are supporting a Christmas in Katherine promotion.
Right through unto Christmas, if shoppers spend $25 or more at any participating businesses they will go into a draw to win a share of $2500 in prizes.
First prize of $1000 in vouchers can be spent at any of the supporting businesses and the entries have been flooding in.
Carols by Candlelight will be held on Saturday November 9 to further stoke the Christmas fever.
