Subway to reopen under new management

"The shops is only temporarily closed in Katherine," a company spokesman said today.

"It will re-open soon under new management."

The spokesman said he was not able to give "a definite date" for the re-opening but said "it would be soon".

After 10 years in business the franchise announced it was closing its doors last week. 

The store closure renewed debate over the number of empty stores in Katherine’s main street. 

The Chamber of Commerce hosted a forum in September to hear ideas from the community about how to revitalise Katherine’s CBD. 

Katherine Times ran a series of stories earlier this year, highlighting the need for a solution.
