
Maud Creek on Gorge Road has flooded this morning, making the road impassable.
The water across the road has isolated residents and tourists along Gorge Road and Nitmiluk National Park.
The bureau expects the Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre to fall below the minor flood level for Katherine River Gorge Road this afternoon now that rain has stopped.
A minor flood warning was issued by the Bureau of Meteorology this morning.
The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre peaked at 4.34 metres around 3.30 this morning and is currently falling.
“No flooding is expected in Katherine town,” the bureau said.

Katherine’s January total is climbing towards 200mm, against an average of 268mm.
The bureau is forecasting continued rain for the Katherine region right through the week.
