Finally, they have reached the 100 day mark of their first school year.
Transition teacher, Bernice McPhee said they are 100 days brighter and smarter, and are excited to have survived the first 100 days of their school life.
Some students said their first taste of school had been a bit of an adjustment.
But Ruby Halls said it has been “fun because we can play and play”.
Another student agreed saying “school is not hard because it is a special day every day”.
Today’s celebration saw 66 Casuarina Street transition students dressing up and playing games that marked their 100 day milestone.
From designing ‘100 days smarter’ crowns to painting 100 dots and making fairy bread with hundreds and thousands, the students were having a ball.
“Transition is always tricky,” Ms McPhee said.
“We have a lot of students with the RAAF and starting school is a big adjustment.
“But the students are moving on quite well,” she said.
Ms McPhee said celebrating 100 days of transition is likely to be an American tradition, which is becoming widely popular in schools across Australia.
