Police this afternoon have confirmed that the man, known to be 48-year-old James Russell, had been found.
A search has been ongoing since Thursday when it became clear Mr Russell and his gyrocopter had failed to reached Stapleton Station, 80km from Katherine, as had previously been arranged.
The search effort had been hampered by the remoteness of the area.
It is believed Mr Russell's gyrocopter came into contact with overhead electrical power lines near Timber Creek, police said.
His family is believed to be organising a memorial service for Mr Russell to be held in Katherine later this week with more details to be made available soon.
Police said the recovery process remains ongoing.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
