Aldermen will tonight decide on whether to agree with an expert's discovery that 54 of them have to go.
An arborist has told council that of the 130 trees surrounding the centre, many have to go as a combination of the destructive birds, a poor wet season and termite attack.
Most of the trees are the large river red gums.
There is still no information on how much it is going to cost to the fix the broken lights at the sportsgrounds, again caused by the corellas.
Council workers are regularly having to fill in dangerous holes on the sportsgrounds as well, again the birds have been blamed.
It could cost more than $150,000 to replace and install the lights.
The removal of the trees will cost more than $18,000.
Council has been told the trees are now dangerous and the area should be cordoned off until they are removed.
No more bookings should be made to host any events in the popular shady areas as well, council has been told.
Council was told officers are already in the process of planning for a replanting program.
"The ambience of the surrounds of the civic centre will be greatly affected by their removal but unfortunately we have no other choice ... ," a report to council states.
Council is holding its regular monthly meeting tonight.
