In past years, Katherine has proven itself to be a strong contender with a string of winners to its name including the mastermind behind Katherine's famous tasty toasties, baked goods and coffee - Brogan Hanrahan.
The owner of the The Black Russian Caravan Bar and Maiden's Lane was presented the NT Government Small Business Achievement Award at the beginning of the year, after seeing a gap in the market and promptly filled it with the introduction of specialty coffee.
Roley James won the Colemans Contracting and Earthmoving Agriculture Award.
Previous to that, Frank Hooper won the Somerville Community Service Award for his dedication to creating awareness for the LGBTQIA community in Katherine.
Rikki Bruce, an engineer, and the overall 2019 Northern Territory Young Achiever of the Year said the awards play an important role in providing the opportunity for exceptional young people in the Territory to be recognised.
"Being a part of the awards has been rewarding and has prompted me to reflect on my journey to this point.
"In doing so, I have realised how far I have come and what I have achieved, which is why I believe these awards are invaluable.
"My involvement with this program has given me further opportunity to give back to the community, promote the awards and hopefully to inspire other young people."
