The decision was made today by Katherine Town Council after falls of more than 100mm in catchment areas over the past week.
There is also the looming impact of a developing cyclone expected to cross the Top End later in the week which would hopefully lead to increased falls in local areas as well.
Council said the closures would stay in place "until advised otherwise".

The following parks, reserves and roads are closed:
- Low Level Bridge
- Katherine Hot Springs
- Boat Ramp
- Knotts Crossing
Gates will be locked at these locations and will be re-opened when conditions improve and become safe.
