The Katherine Times can confirm the live cam which was installed to give residents some warning of potential floods is not working.
As one resident told us, it appears the electronics of the road bridge camera "fried" during a thunderstorm several weeks ago.
Katherine Town Council says it is aware of the problem and is working to have it fixed as soon as possible.
The camera is directed at the Katherine River heights on the old railway bridge and is supposed to provide pictures in real-time every 30 seconds.
Those pictures are embedded in the council's website.
The camera was one of the flood warning devices installed with funding which followed the devastating 1998 flood.
Residents have nothing to fear from a flood any time soon with the Bureau of Meteorology automatic recording devices still operational and showing the river is still tracking at a low ebb.
