Council announced on Facebook last night its March meeting will be closed to the public due to the risks of COVID-19.
"Katherine Town Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause."
One issue on the agenda to be discussed tonight is the unbudgeted provision of shade for the new playground at the hot springs.
The recommended option, costing $59,000, will go to the council meeting tonight for final consideration.
Katherine Times will attempt to bring readers information from the meeting when it is made available.
Citizenship ceremonies will still go ahead at tonight's meeting.
"Council understands the Ceremonial significance and the desire to have your family and friends attend to witness and share this special occasion. However, Council requests all new Citizens are required to attend alone."
The Ceremony will be held outdoors, due to the social distancing requirements.
