Police claim the cache of firearms and traffickable quantities of drugs were found on a remote property at an undisclosed location in a joint operation at the weekend.

A search of the property by detectives from NT and Queensland Police allegedly located 10 firearms, a large quantity of ammunition, a deconstructed clandestine laboratory and traffickable quantities of methamphetamine and cannabis.

A 51-year-old man was arrested and transported to the Harts Range Police Station where he was charged with one count each of:

The man is scheduled to appear before the Alice Springs Local Court on June 9.

Two other occupants on the property were issued with Notices to Appear before the Alice Springs Local Court on drug related offences.

A 27-year-old woman for one count of Possess Scheduled 1 and 2 Drugs - Traffickable Quantity.

A 56-year-old man for one count of Possess Scheduled 1 and self-administer drug.

Southern Regional Investigations Superintendent, Joanne Foley said this seizure of firearms and drugs bound for vulnerable communities was a result of the excellent working relationship with Queensland Police.

"We will continue to work with other jurisdictions to successfully remove the illicit and harmful substances and drugs which have an enormous impact on our communities and towns.

"This operation is an excellent example of that work."
