NT police issued an alert for 'Kay' yesterday after she was last seen walking towards the Stuart Highway from near Ali Curung, between Alice Springs and Tennant Creek.

Police yesterday issued CCTV images of the woman, believed to be in her 50s, so the public could help them locate her.

The woman has been located safe and well by police in Katherine today.

It is believed the woman arrived in Tennant Creek sometime between 7 and 8pm and stayed overnight before catching a bus to Katherine this morning.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter.
