The season restarts in January when Pirates take on Barbarians.
Barbarians finished 2020 with a strong performance against an under-manned Brahmans side.
It was Barbarian's second win of the season over Brahmans after they won their round 3 clash in November.
It had been a rainy day and both teams battled humid conditions as well as a water logged pitch, but Brahmans were always going to be underdogs when they started 2 players short.
The game was scrappy at the start due to the conditions but Barbarians started the stronger side, scoring two tries and a conversion to race to a 12-0 lead.
Brahmans added two extra players to make a full side as the half went on but it was too little too late as Barbarians continued to dominate and ran out winners 39-12.
Kallum Peckham and William Ashley led the way for the Barbarians win with two tries each, while Clinton St. Clair, Dan Harnett and Luke Macfarlane picked up one try each.
Macfarlane also scored two conversions to round out the Barbarian's scoring.
Jeff Usher led the fight for Brahmans with his two tries and one conversion, but his efforts were in vain.
It was a more overwhelming performance this time out from Barbarians, who scraped by with a 14-10 win last time the teams met.
The season pauses for three weeks over the Christmas and New Year period before restarting on January 15.
Pirates sit a long way ahead on top of the ladder, undefeated on 18 points at the season's break.
Barbarians are second in the three team competition, more than doubling their points total to 9 after Friday's win.
Brahmans sit bottom, with no wins and only 1 bonus point for their efforts heading in to Christmas.
However most of the seasons games will be played after the break, so all three teams could see their fortunes change by the finals series in March.
The usual juniors skill session and modified game didn't go ahead on Friday and the scheduled women's Rugby 7s game between Pirates and Barbarians was also called off.
