The event will feature some of the best horsemen and women from the country who will be judged by Jock Weston and Gary Faulks.
First round nominations of those vying for the prize have climbed to 800, and NT ASHS Katherine sub-committee secretary, Lucy Daley, says the numbers are up on years prior.
"The nominations are a bit better than other years but that's just because of the growth in the sport, it's getting more and more popular," she said.
"We've got massive prize money, we're really excited to offer some really great prizes, and it's just a really great event."
The free event is suitable for all members of the family with the action sure to excite.
"We're really keen to have the campdraft this weekend because we were unable to run last year, so it's been really well supported," Lucy said.
It's a really great event for families to come down to and see really good horsemen and women, and children compete on their horses to see what can get done with cattle."
