Meanwhile, quarantine and testing directions for people who have been to a COVID-19 public exposure site in Victoria have been implemented.

These directions are effective from 6:00pm on June 21, 2021.

Anyone currently in mandatory supervised quarantine from Greater Melbourne, who has not been to a Tier 1 public exposure site in Victoria, will be able to exit at this time.

Anyone currently in mandatory supervised quarantine from Greater Melbourne, who was in a Tier 1 exposure site at the relevant time since June 7, 2021 must remain in quarantine until 14 days have passed from the time the person was in the Tier 1 Exposure site.

The Victorian Department of Health has a three tier, risk-based system for COVID-19 public exposure sites.

In line with the Victorian tier system, the Chief Health Officer is directing:

"It has now been 28 days since the last mystery case in Victoria and I am confident that the outbreak in that state has now been brought under control," Chief Health Officer, Dr Hugh Heggie said.

"I am therefore revoking Greater Melbourne as a COVID-19 hotspot for the purposes of travel to the Northern Territory.

"I have also declared quarantine and testing directions for COVID-19 at the remaining public exposure sites in Victoria to ensure we have safety and protection mechanisms in place to protect Territorians.

"I want to remind anyone who has been to any of the public exposure sites in these states and territories to stay up to date with the latest information and to follow all NT Health directions."

The Chief Health Officer will continue to review and assess the COVID-19 situation across Australia, and will take into account COVID-19 monitoring and data collection, the extent of community transmission and risks to the NT community.

The Chief Health Officer has declared quarantine and testing directions for people who have been to a COVID-19 public exposure site in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

This follows on from a New South Wales man in his 40's visiting the ACT on Monday, June 14, 2021.

While the man's test results have showed low levels of the virus, NSW Health has not yet been able to rule it out as a possible case of COVID-19.

As a result, ACT and NSW health authorities have taken a highly precautionary approach and identified a small number of public exposure sites.

The CHO is directing any person in the Northern Territory who has been at an ACT public exposure site, at the dates and times specified, to isolate, get a COVID-19 test and remain in self-quarantine until a negative test is returned.

Quarantine and testing directions continue to remain in place for New South Wales and Queensland.

Greater Melbourne remains a declared hotspot for the purposes of travel to the Northern Territory.

These directions will be reviewed again on Monday, June 21, 2021.

This follows a man in his 60s, who lives is Sydney's eastern suburbs, testing positive for COVID-19.

The man works as a driver, which includes transporting international flight crew, and has visited a number of locations while being potentially infectious.

The CHO is directing any person who has arrived in the Northern Territory since June 1, 2021, or who will arrive in the Northern Territory and has been to a New South Wales COVID-19 public exposure site at the dates and times to do as follows:

Northern Territory Police will re-establish a control point on the Barkly Highway at the border with Queensland on June 10 following the discovery of two COVID-19 cases on the Sunshine Coast.

Providing an additional layer of protection, police will continue with a hard border to Victoria, and monitor the South Australian border despite there currently being no cases in that state.

The Chief Health Officer has revoked regional Victoria as a hotspot for the purposes of travel, effective from 6pm on June 8, 2021, however Greater Melbourne remains a hotspot.

The Chief Health Officer requires anyone who enters to the Northern Territory that has left quarantine in another state or Territory, to get a COVID-19 test on Day 17 after their quarantine period commenced.

This is one of the measures included in the updated CHO Directions for Territory Border Restrictions, which came into effect on June 5, 2021 at 12:01am.

As part of these extra protections, a person must now also declare on their NT Border Entry Form if they have been in quarantine in another jurisdiction in the 28 days prior to entering the Territory.

In addition to this, anyone entering the Northern Territory must get a COVID-19 test if required to, at any time during the 28 days after entry. Refusal to test will result in quarantine for 10 days, or for those people already in quarantine a 10-day extension of their quarantine period.

The CHO is directing any person who has arrived in the Northern Territory since May 23, 2021, or who will arrive in the Northern Territory and has been to a NSW COVID-19 case location at the dates and times specified to:
