The Ultra Challenge, which took place on Saturday, started with a three kilometre swim through the Katherine Gorge, a 14km cross country run, a 40km road ride, an 18km mountain bike ride and a 10km 4WD road run.
Race Director Cameron Judson said the event allows competitors to challenge themselves and take in some beautiful scenery while they're doing it.
"The Katherine Ultra Challenge is the premier and adventure race in the Northern Territory," Mr Judson said.
"Highlighting the natural beauty of Nitmuluk National Park, the Katherine Gorge and its surrounds, it is a one day multisport event encompassing multiple legs to complete "the tonne" and cover 100kms through the best national park the Territory has to offer."
