Organisers say all games are 5 overs-a-side (unless otherwise decided) and are to be played in accordance with 'the spirit of cricket'.
The aim of the Nitmiluk Cup is to encourage the camaraderie of the game rather than a competitive spirit and teams short of players can grab reserve players from other teams not playing at that time of their own team playing. But this player must bat last.
Last year, more than 100 cricketers from as far away as the Gold Coast gathered at the town oval for the cricket tournament and the Timber Creek Bush Turkeys won the Nitmiluk Cup.
The spirit behind the competition is to promote the game to Indigenous cricketers and encourage community teams to play in the the 29th Imparja Cup in 2022.
The next local tournament will be the Barra Cup in Borroloola on the weekend of November 12-14.
Followed by the Dingo Cup at Timber Creek in late November.
