Police are investigating a crash in Jabiru which left one person dead and another injured.

According to NT Police, a Toyota station wagon crashed and rolled at the intersection of Waterhouse Road and Civic Drive in Jabiru.
A 58-year-old male passenger died at the scene while the 37-year-old male driver and another passenger were taken to the local clinic with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver tested positive for alcohol and was then transferred to the Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment.
Detective for the Major Crash Investigations unit travelled to Jabiru to investigate.

"Tragically, this is yet another preventable death occurring on NT roads and has resulted in significant trauma for the man's family and friends in the lead-up to Christmas," said Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner.
"Major Crash detectives remain on scene in Jabiru. At this stage of the investigation, it is apparent that alcohol and speed are contributing factors involved in this crash.
"As we approach the festive season, this should serve as a warning to all who continue to drink drive and expose others and themselves to the risk of serious injury or death."
