Week 4 - I’m now coming to the end of my fourth week in this challenge.
It’s such a good feeling to know I have successfully not touched any junk food for almost a month.
I strangely have more energy, and feel ‘happier’.
Junk food really does weigh one down and those sugar fixes leave me on a ‘high’ followed by a sudden ‘low’.
If this is something you experience, I encourage you to test my theory and cut the junk food out for a while.
It’s hard, but worth it.
I still want to eat the junk food, but am finding it easier to resist as the days go on.
Fruit is a good substitute when I feel like something sweet.
I also drink a range of herbal teas, my two favourites being Peppermint Tea and Blueberry, Apple and Rosehip.
The hardest cravings to resist come when I feel hungry and can smell the junk food somewhere.
Someone cracked open a bag of Salt and Vinegar chips the other day.
I was hungry at the time and accidently got a whiff.
So at times like that I try to find a healthy alternative.
Nuts, crackers and fruit are always a good option.
I can not thank the town of Katherine enough for the support they have shown me throughout the past four weeks.
So many businesses have gone out of their way to help and donate.
Please refer to my website for up and coming fundraising events.
I would particularly like to thank Frank and his Team at the Katherine Country Club, and Jonathan and the Westpac Staff for the support they have shown this week and for the sausage sizzle they are going to hold in the near future (on June 14).
The Katherine Golf and Country Club will be holding a ‘Barefoot Lawn Bowls’ on Friday May 31, filled with raffles, prizes andnibblies.
The entry fee is $8 per person and children are welcome - please email me for registration.
So to the town of Katherine, I would like to say thank you.
You are an awesome bunch.
