Hosted by the Katherine Krocs Golden Oldies Rugby Club, the game will pit local Australian and New Zealand rugby fans in a showdown for ultimate bragging rights, and residents are being encouraged to take part in the fun.
As part of the celebration, a traditional Maori hangi will be put down on the day, allowing spectators to get a true feel for Waitangi Day.
Old Black Cactus Veller said it would be a day to remember, both on and off the paddock.
“It just gets bigger and bigger every year,” he said.
“It’s pretty popular and we usually get a few hundred people down.”
Rugby union fans are expected to be at the Katherine Sports and Recreation Club by 4pm.
In early betting, the New Zealand outfit is tipped to collect the silverware.
