Katherine Mayor Fay Miller has shared her private collection of 1998 flood photos with the Katherine Times.
Mayor Miller stopped by the Katherine Times office on Thursday to pass on her collection of pictures and reminisce about the enormous community spirit shown during the disaster.
Mayor Miller and her late husband Mike owned Red Gum Caravan Park (now Boab) at the time of the floods.
The disaster of 1998 will be remembered in a special souvenir edition of the paper next week.
Through the memories of people who were here, and their startling never seen before pictures, we will mark 20 years since the town was almost wiped from the map.
Tell us your memories of the flood, share your pictures with us – drop them in, email them, post them on our Facebook page, send them by flood boat if you have to.
And remember to get your copy of the paper next week as we commemorate the 20 year anniversary.
