As part of National Families Week Save the Children put on a group singing event last Friday.
Celebrating the ‘Strong Families, Strong Communities’ theme, over 60 parents and children from around Katherine shared a morning of fun activities and a group singing session.
‘Singing in Tune Together’ is part of a Play2Learn initiative, premiered by the Save the Children staff, to bring together the parents and children who attend the playgroup.
“Group singing brings families together and enhances well being,” said office manager Lauren Randall.
The Play2Learn group is for families with children up to five years old and is delivered by qualified Early Childhood and Family Support workers.
Over a hundred thousand people get involved in community events during National Families Week, in a big Australia wide celebration of families in all their diversity.
