NT Friendship & Support Inc and Australian Red Cross Services Katherine have been recognised out of a record 10,000 nominations.
Telstra group executive and awards ambassador Vicki Brady said the finalists have been through a rigorous judging process to find the most outstanding small and medium sized businesses in Australia.
“We are delighted to have received a record 10,000 nominations across the country for the Telstra Business Awards this year, a true testament to the vitality of Australian businesses and the regard in which they are held by their communities across the country,” she said.
“It’s an exciting time to be in business, as technology and innovation helps to open up incredible opportunities, new markets and new ways to operate.”
Acting regional manager of Katherine Red Cross Bill Daw said staff members are honoured to have been nominated for such an amazing award.
“It showcases all of the amazing work the Red Cross has put into the community.
“And it shows all of the hard work we have done with partners is paying off.
“Without our partners such as, to name a few, Kalano Flexible Care, CHAIN, Katherine Youth Justice Reinvestment and the mens group, this wouldn’t have been possible, Mr Daw said.
This year’s finalists have been evaluated across a broad range of criteria, including: strategy and vision, customers and marketing, operations, people and culture, innovation and technology, social responsibility and financial acumen.
“Every day, we see and help support Australians start new businesses, grow existing businesses, and help them be more productive, secure and successful. We love being able to showcase and celebrate this amazing business talent through the Telstra Business Awards,” Ms Brady said.
“The Awards program aims to support small and medium businesses by helping them to analyse, evaluate and improve their operations and increase their networking opportunities through technology and innovation.
“As partner to almost one million small and medium business customers, we believe there’s an important role for us to play in helping customers embrace technology and make the most of the opportunities to thrive in a world that is more connected than ever.”
