A free sausage sizzle will be held in Katherine next week to mark National Others Week.
Members of the Katherine Christian Outreach Centre will be manning the tongs at 15 O’Shea Terrace (near the Katherine Club) right through the week from Monday to Friday from 6.30-8am.
National Others Week is an initiative of International Network Churches and Global Care.
The goal for National Others Week is to show kindness to people for no other reason than everyone is special and unique and deserves it.
“The motto of the church is 'Loving people to Life' and we feel this will be a great, uplifting event,” Pastor Beth Huynh said.
“The last couple of years our church paid for a week of coffees at Coffee Club for every customer.
“This year we wanted people to feel a more personal and community touch hence the sausage sizzle.
“All our church members are getting involved and will be rostered on to serve the people of Katherine breakfast sausage sizzle and cuppa.”
The centre’s service times are 10am and 6pm on Sundays and it hosts the radio program, "Words of life" on Fridays at 6pm on 8tkr community radio.
